Sales Executive with Engineering Experience Needed

My client, Toner Plastics, East Longmeadow, MA, has an exciting opportunity for a sales executive – a sales hunter with high integrity and credibility, who is technically (engineering) astute.  Focused on growth, Toner Plastics is looking to hire a premier sales person who will have a direct and positive impact on the company’s success.
Embedded in the company’s culture is a strong work ethic, but they also enjoy what they do.  This position is one of a few key strategic hires they will be making in 2016 to achieve their goals for growth.  We would love to hear from you, if you’re interested in being a part of it – i.e., if you
  • Are a hardworking, self-motivated A-Player with an enviable track record of growing your company’s market share, opening new sales channels, and developing new market opportunities;
  • Are passionate about prospecting and effective in closing sales because you have mastered the dynamics of a proven sales process;
  • Are extremely customer centric – going the distance, committed to finding the right products for the right customers – even where they may not yet exist because you envision potential;
  • Would like to work for a stable company with high visibility where one person’s impact can really make a difference.  Toner Plastics is that company!

My client’s target customers include manufacturing companies that would use my client’s products as components in their assemblies.  Toner Plastics is a unique company in that it is one of four integrated plastics manufacturing companies – headquartered in East Longmeadow, MA with three sister companies:  S&E Specialty Polymers, The Beadery, and Modern Mold & Tool.  Here is an attractive opportunity to possibly cross-sell among four companies – not just one!  While sales may focus primarily on local and regional accounts, there is no restriction on territory.

The Sales Executive sells injection molded and extruded products to manufacturing companies specifically on behalf of two operations in different locations (Toner Plastics/East Longmeadow, MA and The Beadery/Hope Valley, Rhode Island).  In 2013, the Beadery launched its blockbuster Wonder Loom rubber band bracelet product line, sold at major retailers such as Wal-Mart – receiving recognition from Wal-Mart and the State of Massachusetts.

While sales experience in the plastics industry would be ideal – the right attitude and aptitude reflected in one’s past sales achievements are critical.  Sales experience in manufacturing is key.  A fast learner who can come up to speed quickly.  A college degree is required – engineering degree preferred, but a business, marketing, or other technical degree will be considered.  Experience in setting up and running tradeshows from start to finish.  Computer proficient – skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.  Successful sales history in closing business deals ranging from $100K – $1 million with the ability to bring in at least $500K in new business annually.

  • Excellent communication skills – writing, speaking, listening, presenting and interacting with others
  • Superior prospecting and closing skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills – analytical and technical; desire to get to the root cause and resolve
  • Strong resolve – does not get discouraged easily
  • Professional demeanor
  • Nimble and adaptable in style and dress – depending on the audience and situation
  • Cost conscious – knows how to save both the company and the customer money
  • Doesn’t over promise – is realistic, honest and straightforward
  • Strategic thinker who can also wear multiple hats – willing to do what is required administratively to get the job done
  • Engaging – pleasant manner – liked and trusted by others
  • Smart and insightful – innovative and creative – comes up with ideas others haven’t thought of
  • Quick study – open to learning
  • Drives for results – meets deadlines
  • Highly organized
  • Keen sense of follow-up
  • Dependable/reliable – keeps promises
  • Positive outlook
  • Takes ownership
  • Integrity and trustworthy
  • Skilled in time management – efficient; sets goals and can even exceed them

With a significant variable component of total compensation (base and commission) that is quite competitive and a benefits package that includes health insurance, paid holidays and 401k with company match, there is great potential to maximize personal earnings.

In this is a strong match for your background/experience, please email your resume as a Word document attachment to:; 860-267-2690
